We are now looking for a talented Experience Design Director to join our growing team in the Auckland office. 

What will I do?

You will be responsible for leading Isobar’s experience design capabilities by refining and driving human-centred design practices to uncover new ways of innovating, growing and evolving our client’s business.

You will be a trusted partner for clients as well as internal teams to solve complex problems and deliver world-class products and experiences.  

You will be responsible for building, evolving and developing the experience design team, ensuring that the discipline and deliverables are woven into the agency's offering and that you develop people, processes, initiatives and culture to help achieve organisational growth.

What are my responsibiities?

  • Refine Isobar’s strategic and experience design philosophies, processes and systems to improve the quality of output.  

  • Lead experience design engagements with key clients including designing and running workshops, presenting outputs and pitching in solutions.

  • Build a strong partnership with the technology team and its leadership to ensure Isobar delivers world-class experiences, providing strategic guidance and design thinking to solve the right client problems and grow their businesses.  

  • Collaborate with the delivery and client services teams to support the planning of client strategies and engagements to ensure efficient and effective approaches.  

  • Develop customer journey maps, wireframes, information architecture, user stories and prototypes based on user needs.  

  • Direct and collaborate with Visual Designers to bring experiences to life with beautiful design.

  • Mentor the wider team to build design thinking skills and capabilities among the strategy, creative and experience design teams. Provide direction, training, inspiration, motivation and advice in order to upskill and improve those around you.  

  • As part of the senior leadership team, you are responsible for growing client relationships. Help drive key new business pitches.

  • Help to onboard new employees to drive understanding and investment in HCD principles.  

  • Proactively identify opportunities to integrate with other crafts to deliver holistic approaches and solutions across Isobar’s offerings.
